Аннотация

The article discusses the use of literature in teaching language, specifically phonetics and syntax. It is suggested that George Bernard Shaw's play Pygmalion, and its film adaptation My Fair Lady, can serve as a starting point for exploring accents, dialects, and other phonetic topics. In terms of syntax, the author suggests using examples from literature, including George Orwell's essays, to illustrate various syntactic structures.
